Canada is currently regarded as one of the best places to live. It has one of the world’s best education systems and plenty of job opportunities. Not to mention the healthcare system, which is ranked among the top ten in the world and is completely free for residents. Every year, the Canadian government invites approximately 500k immigrants to settle in the North American country.
There are currently over 100 programs available for people who want to immigrate to Canada and begin a new life. Would you like to be amongst those that get this opportunity?
We’ve compiled a list of the top few that will give you the best chance of acceptance.
The Express Entry System is most likely the most efficient way to obtain permanent residence in Canada. This system was created specifically to bring skilled workers into Canada.
So, if you have a degree and some work experience, this is your entry point into the North American country.
You only need to create a profile once for this program, and you will be eligible for all of the draws that will take place over the next 12 months (draws are held biweekly). On average, skilled workers must wait 6 months before being hired. This does not rule out the possibility of being chosen in your first draw. If you go a year without being drawn, you’ll have to re-create your profile. You can apply to any of the three Express Entry programs based on your age, education, experience, and language ability.
Almost every Canadian province has its own immigration program for skilled workers. These are known as Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) and are unrelated to the Express Entry System.
The British Columbia PNP (BC PNP) is likely the best of the bunch. Why? Because it is the only one that accepts applications online. Furthermore, it has more draws than the Express Entry System, resulting in a much shorter waiting period. Certain occupations are in high demand in each Canadian province. In British Columbia, technology workers are the most in demand. An IT professional applying for permanent residence through the BC PNP is typically accepted in 2 or 3 months.
In order to draw new workers to Atlantic Canada, the pilot program was started in 2017. For those who are unaware, Atlantic Canada is made up of the Eastern provinces (aside from Quebec) that are situated on the Atlantic Ocean’s coast: New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
Three programs make up the pilot as well:
Similar to the Express Entry System, all you need to do is set up a profile and wait to be chosen. On average, the waiting period lasts only six months. Your chances of getting accepted much sooner are higher the more in-demand your profession is.
It is generally more likely for people to immigrate through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot if they work in the healthcare, agricultural, aquaculture, technological, and transportation sectors. In actuality, you are approved much more quickly than with Express Entry and the majority of PNPs.
The temporary working visa, also known as a temporary foreign work permit, only permits you to stay and work in Canada for a brief time—usually a couple of years—unlike the previous programs.
You might get your temporary work permit in as little as six months, depending on your training, work history, and industry.
You are eligible to apply for permanent residence under any programs that are offered once you have at least six months of work experience in Canada. The Canadian Experience Class is your best choice, but you’ll need at least a year’s worth of work experience in the nation to qualify.
You do not have to be a skilled worker to gain immediate entry into Canada. You can also get a study permit. To study in Canada, you must first be accepted by one of the recognized universities. You can begin your application process on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) website once you have received a letter of acceptance from any of them. If you decide to stay in Canada after arriving as a student, you have several options. As long as you are eligible, you can apply for permanent residency through any of the available programs.
A Post Graduate Work Permit can also be obtained. This is a temporary work visa designed for international students studying in Canada. Through this program, you can stay and work for up to three years after graduating. If you decide you want to stay in Canada during this time, you can apply for permanent residency.
In fact, you’ll probably have a better chance of acceptance if you apply right after graduation.
Would you prefer to be driven by someone who does not have a driver’s license? Or would you choose to consult a doctor with no legal education?
The answer is most likely no. So, if you’ll only be driven by someone with a license, why not immigrate with the assistance of a licensed immigration consultant who is an expert on Canadian immigration law?
An authorized immigration consultant, known as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), will submit the application on your behalf. Not only that, but he or she will first devise the best strategy for your Visa application in order to maximize your chances of acceptance.
